ENVIROMENTAL CERTIFICATION
logo USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council)

Environmental certification of constructions and buildings is carried out by following one of the existing, internationally recognized, systems for assessing and evaluating sustainable development of infrastructure and construction. The benefits of such certification are numerous and are related, inter alia, to the building's own recognizable identity, to the property’s commercial value increase, to reducing its operating costs, to the improvement of indoor conditions and increasing the productivity of its employees and finally to the reduction  of its ecological and energy footprint.

OTEestate as a Gold Member of the USGBC (US Green Building Council) has certified its property at Kerameikos with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) at Gold level (Gold Certification). The building, with a total area of 10.850m2, is located in the historic centre of Athens and houses part of OTE Group Customer Service (Call Centre). The aim was to create a building modelled according to standards able to attain environmental sustainability, capable of providing an ideal environment for workers. Furthermore, OTEestate assets with LEED certification at gold level are: SOLONOS, COSMOTE TV_KIFISSIA.

New building projects have already been registered on the GBC (Green Business Certification Inc.) platform and their LEED certification process will soon be completed.

The acquisition of the OHSAS 18001: 2007 certificate is corresponding with the compliance of the above Companies with the laws, regulations and policies / procedures of the said System, which is implemented with a view to addressing the potential risks in order to protect Health and Safety of the employees and of the entire workforce thus reducing workplace hazards.

DATA CENTER AVAILABILITY CERTIFICATION SUPPORT

Data Center sites’ certification services are provided on behalf of OTE Group with regard to the availability and functionality of their infrastructures.

Initially, facilities are designed to meet the highest and most stringent international operating and safety standards. The implementation study is then carried out with the construction details for all individual installations and then construction is implemented in a given timeframe, with emphasis on the operational tests of the installation, before the site is ready to meet the Group's IT needs.

OTE Group's Data Center design ensures certification Tier III Class by the Uptime Institute, which is one of the leading Data Center availability infrastructure certification bodies worldwide.

The Tier III (Concurrently Maintainable) certification of OTE Group's Data Centers confirms that the Data Center infrastructure is designed in such a way as to maximize the continuity of its operation against any damage to its core infrastructure (power supplies, air conditioning, etc.).

Given the prominence of the Uptime Institute in Data Center industry, obtaining this certification highlights the quality of OTE Group's infrastructure and exhibits  the philosophy that distinguishes it in terms  of its critical facilities security.
