No, there are no additional discounts for high consumption. The only discount provided is the one applicable for the current month.

What is the Green Tariff?

The Green Tariff is a special electricity program offering competitive rates and transparency, with a price adjustment mechanism based on market energy prices (MCP).

Who can join the Green Tariff?

Both residential consumers and businesses with low-voltage supply who seek competitive rates without hidden costs.

What is the Price Adjustment Mechanism in the Green Tariff?

It’s the part of the final electricity price that adjusts monthly based on wholesale market fluctuations.​

In the Green Tariff, the monthly final price is calculated as:​

Final Price = Base Supply Price + Price Adjustment Mechanism​

The Base Supply Price is set by the provider and remains fixed for at least 6 months.​

The Price Adjustment Mechanism is calculated using specific coefficients related to the energy market and is announced monthly.​

The final price is published by the first day of each month on the provider’s website.​

This mechanism ensures transparency and allows consumers to benefit from potential market price reductions.

Is there a commitment or penalty for contract termination?

No, you can switch suppliers or tariff plans at any time without penalty.

How can I switch electricity suppliers?

The process is simple: fill out and sign the required forms (Supply Application–Contract, Authorization, General Terms) and submit the necessary documents.

Is a technician visit required?

No, switching providers does not require technical work or meter replacement.

Will I lose power during the switch?

No, your electricity supply continues uninterrupted.

What documents are needed for the application?

ID, latest electricity bill, lease agreement or ownership contract, and a photo of the meter.

How long does the switch take?

Typically, the process is completed within 5–7 business days.

What is the duration of the contract?

The minimum duration is 12 months from the activation date of the Meter Load Representation Declaration.

Is there a penalty for early termination?

No, there is no penalty for terminating the contract before the 12-month period.

What price will I pay after the contract ends?

After the contract expires, the price will be adjusted according to the supplier’s current tariff.

BILLING & CHARGES
How are electricity bills issued for businesses?

The bills are issued with all the required tax details of the business (tax identification number, tax office, company name, etc.) and are fully valid.

Is there a fixed monthly fee?

Yes, there is a fixed monthly fee of €5 per supply point.

What are the energy charges?

The daytime energy charge is €0.198/kWh regardless of consumption. Prices may vary based on the price adjustment mechanism.

Is there a night-time rate?

The rate remains at €0.198/kWh, provided your meter supports night-time supply.

What are regulated charges?

These are state-defined charges applied to all consumers regardless of provider, including PSO, ETMEAR, Distribution Network, Transmission Network, etc.

Who is responsible for consumption measurements?

HEDNO (Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator) is responsible for measuring and sending consumption data to all providers.

How are bills sent?

Bills are sent electronically to your email.

How can I pay my bill?

Via standing order, e-banking, card payment, or at partner bank branches.

What happens if I delay payment?

There may be surcharges or disconnection notices, but payment arrangements are always possible.

What happens to the price after the contract ends?

The price will be adjusted according to the supplier’s then-current tariff.

What happens to the guarantee paid to the previous supplier?

The guarantee should be refunded by your previous supplier, typically offset against your final bill.​

Is a guarantee required by OTE ESTATE?

Guarantee requirements are assessed on a case-by-case basis.​

How often are bills issued and how will I receive them?

Bills are issued monthly and sent electronically to the email provided in your application. They may be estimated (advance) or actual (final), based on certified consumption data from HEDNO.

What do electricity bills include?

How can I set up a standing order for paying my bill?

Through your bank:​
You can request the activation of a standing order directly via your bank’s e-banking service or at a branch, using the payment code shown on your bill.

CUSTOMER SERVICE
The supply is not in my name. How can I change it and choose OTE Estate as my provider?

The electricity bill must be issued in the name of the property user.​

If you’re a tenant: send a copy of the lease agreement (certified by the Tax Office if before 2014, or proof of electronic submission if after 2014), or a signed declaration of tenancy with certified signature.​

If you’re the owner: send a copy of the ownership contract or a signed declaration of ownership with certified signature.

How can I submit a complaint or request?

You can submit your request electronically or by phone. All requests are answered within 3 business days.

NETWORK ISSUES - DAMAGES
Will I lose power during the provider switch?

No. Electricity supply is not interrupted during the switch.​

What happens in case of a power outage or network fault?

HEDNO is solely responsible for network faults. You can contact them at 11500 or via the HEDNO mobile app.​

When Is an Electrical Installation Declaration (EID) required?

The Electrical Installation Declaration (EID) is mandatory by law. Without it, a new installation cannot be connected to the grid, nor can an existing installation be reconnected if its power supply was interrupted for safety re-inspection.​

The EID is issued by a certified electrician, who declares that the installation described in the document:​

  • Has been constructed in compliance with current electrical regulations.​
  • Has been inspected by the same electrician to confirm it is safe.​
  • Has undergone re-inspection if it is an existing installation, to ensure continued safety.​
  • Is handed over to the owner or user with guaranteed protection against electric shock, fire, and malfunction.​

The responsibility for submitting the EID lies with the property user and owner. It must be filed with the local office of the Distribution Network Operator (HEDNO).​

Does the EID needs renewal?​

Yes, renewal is legally required. The initial inspection must take place before the first connection of any installation or after major modifications. Re-inspections must be carried out at intervals depending on the type of installation:​

  • Residences and similar spaces: at least every 14 years. ​
  • Indoor commercial spaces without flammable materials: at least every 7 years.​
  • Indoor commercial spaces with flammable materials: at least every 2 years.​
  • Entertainment venues and public gathering spaces: annually.​
  • Outdoor professional installations (pools, marinas, parking areas): annually and before reconnection if power supply was interrupted​
SPECIAL ISSUES
Supplier of Last Resort

The Supplier of Last Resort ensures that customers of previous Supplier continue to have electricity, until customers conclude a new contract with another supplier (one of them is OTE ESTATE).

The transition in the service of Last Resort is done automatically for the customer.

As a Supplier of Last Resort is defined the Supplier with the largest market share per customer category (currently PPC S.A.), by decision of the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Waste and Water (RAAEY).

Last resort power supply is provisionally made, for a maximum period of three (3) months, starting from the beginning of the customer's representation by the Supplier of Last Resort.

What is the Default Supplier?

A Default Supplier of electricity is a supplier obliged to supply electricity to small customers throughout the Greek territory if one of the following situations occurs: a) have done nothing with their right to freely choose a supplier or b) cannot find a supplier in the deregulated market at the current commercial terms. The transition in the service of Default Supplier is done automatically for the customer.

Is there a possibility of exemption from the payment of municipal cleaning and lighting fees for unused property?

According to paragraph 1 of article 222 of Law 4555/2018 (Government Gazette 133 A’), which replaced article 5 of Law 3345/2005, which had replaced the second and third subparagraphs of paragraph 1 of Law 25 / 1975 (Government Gazette 74 A’), as supplemented by paragraph 14 of article 9 of Law 2503/1997 (Government Gazette 107 A’): «Properties that have power failure are exempted from the payment of a single fee for cleaning and lighting from the date of the declaration by the owner or his legal representative to the municipality, concerned that they are not electrified and that they will not be used. Until the submission of the above statement, the fees are due by category of property and paid according to the provisions of article 21 of 24.9 / 20-10-1958 (Government Gazette 171 A'). If, despite the submission of the statement, electricity or use of the property is found, the debtor must pay the fee corresponding to the release time and an equivalent fine.

Charges for cleaning and lighting fees, corresponding to a period up to 19-07-2018, during which the electrification of a property had been interrupted, according to a certificate from the responsible network operator and the property was not used, according to a statement of the owner or the owner’s legal representative, their certificate is deleted or omitted. If the above statement has not been submitted by 07-19-2018, is submitted within six (6) months of it. Amounts paid are not sought.
